Originally from Brescia, Italy, Executive Chef Roberto Galetti is also the Managing Director of Garibaldi Italian Restaurant & Bar.
He was lured into the culinary world when his passion for this industry and for food was recognized at an early age. Chef Roberto went on to perfect his culinary skills at the prestigious Culinary Institute Caterina De Medici in Italy, where he gained knowledge of traditional Italian cuisine to develop his own unique style and flair. Over the years, Chef Roberto traveled around the world, working with famous chefs in reputable hotels and restaurants. In 2003, he moved on to set up his own restaurant in Singapore – Garibaldi Italian Restaurant & Bar.
Garibaldi Italian Restaurant & Bar is hailed as one of Singapore’s most popular and respected fine-dining restaurant, offering a wide selection of authentic Italian cuisine, fine wines and premium cocktails. Located along the trendy Purvis Street, the award-winning restaurant has become a classic social gathering place for many in Singapore.
With Chef Roberto at the helm of the restaurant, he recently re-designed the menu and introduced some new dishes to bring customers a complete representation of traditional Italian cuisines. Maintaining and strictly upholding the restaurant’s commitment to using mostly Italy imported and only the best available ingredients, customers can always be assured that authenticity in Garibaldi’s dishes is guaranteed with the utmost effort.
As recognition of his continuos success Chef Roberto has achieved:
– in 2012, the appointment of Master Chef from the Barilla Academy as a promoter of authentic Italian cuisine;
– in 2013, the Targa Ospitalità Italiana as an authentic promoter of Italian cuisine;
– in 2015, the Certificate of “Diploma di Buona Cucina”.
Garibaldi today represents a major showcase for authentic products in Asia, and is certainly a towing for the Italian exports
Last June 2017, Roberto together with his team was awarded 1 Michelin Star, as biggest recognition of his consistent career.
Till today, Chef Roberto is still enjoying his life in the kitchen and the personal interaction with his customers, most of whom have become his friends over the years.
